Eddie Campbell has
been in and out of Nashville more times than he cares to remember. Each time,
always returning with new songs that describe his experiences when he has
been on the road enjoying life and meeting people. His fresh country and
western songs are distinctive, unique and sometimes provocative but they are
always sung with such sincerity that you never know if he has actually
experienced these situations or if he is just pulling your chain. The cleaver
lyrics drives this fun-filled album much the same way a trucker drives a
semi. full-throttle to the floor board and no looking back where he has been. Somewhat
disillusioned with the glamour, glitter, and wave of “new country” that was
suddenly embracing the music industry there, Eddie took a hiatus and returned
to “Sweet Home Alabama” the state of his birth. For two years he
lived on the Alabama River in Selma, writing songs about life in the deep
south. From these reflective times came such songs like “Living on Easy
Street”, “Roll on Mother Trucker”, “Pulling Time Ain't Nothing”, “Spiderman”,
“Mr. Man in the Moon”, “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”, “Hard Times, Warm Beer
and Cold Women”, “Combination Man”, “Champagne Taste, Beer Money”, “Fast
Eddie”, “Go Along To Get Along”, “Rock My Baby to Sleep”, “Lookin’ For A Good
Girl” and about a hundred more. Many of these selections are found on this
album. |
